I was preparing Ghee Eye Butter today and while blending the Triphala oil into it, thought I would post about the benefits of this powerful Ayurvedic preparation.
Triphala means 3 Fruits and it is just that – a powdered blend of dried Amalaki (Indian Gooseberry), Haritaki (Chebulic Myrobalan) and Vibhitaki (Bellirica Myrobalan).
A simple blend but a powerhouse of benefits. Here are 8 of Triphala’s wonderful benefits.

1. Triphala’s most well-known benefit is that it helps in digestion
2. It improves absorption and assimiliation of nutrients from food
3. A powerful detoxifier – it helps to cleanse the body of toxins and is a well-known colon cleanser
4. It is also used as an aid to maintain a healthy body weight
5. It helps to flush the urinary tract
6. A powerful anti-oxidant, it helps delay cell aging – the benefits of which can be seen on the skin and well functioning body organs.
7. Supports liver and kidney health
8. Promotes good vision and eye health. Bathing eyes with Triphala soaked water is considered extremely beneficial for maintaining vision.
I use Triphala and Turmeric infused oils in my Ghee Eye Butter. It refreshes, soothes and hydrates the eyes and is also great for removing dark circles. Click on the image to read more.
